Preface
Many companies employ staff who do not have any idea what they are doing or what the shipping terms are for particular projects and shipments, well this is an idea that I thought might help you and your staff, call it an online learning project of mine.
I have been in all aspects of the shipping field, and I can tell you that you never stop learning, I can also say that any question your staff ask must never be considered a stupid question, asking questions, mundane as it might appear to you is simply important to the learner and if they ask the question then you have an interested person who will absorb more about your business than you expect. This is the person you want, the know it all may have the inclination, but they will cost you more in the long run as they are the ones that don't query problems and jump into resolving issues without the management team, this is usually because they think they know it all and really they don't!
So, instead of the stupid guesses, let's educate your staff of what is really required of them and let them know that they are important and teach them to understand all the shipping terms, even if they are not widely used today.

Cabotage - Transport
Cabotage is a term used for the use of empty containers by transporters moving cargo from one point to another, utilising the space to secure cargo whilst in transit.
This is very popular in South Africa, as there is so much pilfering and cargo hi-jacking these days.
Cabotaging a container allows the owner to move the container at a lower rate than if it were to move empty, basically saving up to 70% of the original cost.
Try it if you need to save on your final expenses.

Container Sales
If you are just looking at owning a used container for whatever reason, then look no further, contact us through the blog and we'll set up a deal for you.
Containers are used primarily for the carriage of cargo between two point in a secured way that no one can tamper with the goods, but the lines eventually see the light and sell of those old boxes to replace with newer models, this is where we come in, we can quote you on your needs no matter what type of container you need, the good thing is that the containers are localised with local customs officials, which means you pay and take away.
